It was on 8 December 2014 that YouTube vlogger, Connor Franta, 31 decided to go public with his sexuality. He revealed in the uploaded video that he is gay.
Connor admitted that he did feel that he was gay at the age of 12. But since he was from the Midwest, it was not a normal thing there. Hence, he was terrified to disclose it to anyone. Nonetheless, he went ahead and had dated some girls during his high school days. But Connor felt nothing in those relationships. Connor said:
“I’m sitting here with no script, no plan, no fancy editing, and I’m just gonna be really honest,”

Connor Franta’s process of coming out was a gradual one
Connor was 22 when he opted to tell the world about his sexuality. Earlier, he tried hiding it but it only affected his mental well-being. Recalling it, Connor said:

“I thought about it so much that I became obsessed with it … and became depressed.”
Slowly, he confided in his family about his gay sexuality. Later, he also informed on it to his close friends. Connor is happy that they understand him and gave him support during those hard times. Thus, he got confidence and decided to also let his online fans and audience know about it.
In the video, Connor asked those who are gay to be brave and not struggle about it. He urged them to come out adding that it would all be okay once they do so. Connor also took advice and guidance from other vloggers and bloggers on it. He continued:
“You are who you are and you should love that person,”
This video got a lot of views and likes. Most of the comments were positive. One negative comment read:
“Personally I dont support/like gay. But that just my opinion [sic]”
But the negative comments were not too harsh or rude.
Who is the current boyfriend of Connor?
Though Connor has disclosed his sexuality, for some reason, he has not been open about his boyfriend identity. Connor has never named who his boyfriend is. But his curious fans have picked up some hints and strongly believe that Connor is dating rapper, Troye Sivan. But neither party has confirmed or denied the news.
Rapper Allday had once accidentally mentioned them as the cute couple. But he realized his mistake and deleted his social media post. He backtracked and said that he hardly knew Troye or Connor. One of Troye’s song For Him seems to imply that Him is Connor. But again there was no confirmation from either of them. Their fans have named the couple Tonnor.
Moreover, on the launch of his album Blue Neighbourhood, Troye thanked everyone and at the end expressed gratitude for ‘my beautiful boyfriend’. He did not name the boyfriend but everyone feels that it is Connor.
